Rote's Hidden Gem on Bo'a Beach
A family-run boutique resort where traditional Rote architecture meets the rhythm of the sea, five minutes from the Bo'a wave and a short drive to T-Land.
Welcome
An intimate stay in the heart of the Bo'a Valley.
Tucked into the southwestern shore of Rote Island, Bo'a Gardens is a small, family-owned retreat of four traditional bungalows and two private villas. We've been welcoming travellers, surfers chasing T-Land, couples in search of stillness, families discovering Indonesia's easternmost reaches, since 2019.
Every meal is cooked from scratch with island-grown produce and the morning's catch. Every boat trip is run by neighbours who grew up on these waters. Stay a few nights and you'll understand why our guests come back.

Our Story
A family resort on Indonesia's last quiet coast.
Bo'a Gardens started as a single bungalow built by hand, meant for friends visiting to surf. Today it's home to four bungalows, two villas and a garden restaurant, but the spirit is the same. You'll meet the family, eat what they eat, and leave knowing the corner of the world they grew up in.

Steps from Bo'a, minutes from T-Land.
The legendary Bo'a wave, a long, fast left , breaks five minutes' walk from your bungalow. A fifteen-minute drive south brings you to T-Land at Nemberala, one of Indonesia's most respected left-handers. We'll help you read the swell, lend you a board if needed, and have cold drinks waiting when you paddle in.
- Walking distance to Bo'a Beach
- 15-minute drive to T-Land / Nemberala
- Boat charters to remote outer-island breaks
- Board rental and ding repair on-site

The Restaurant
Unhurried meals, salt air, golden hour.
Our kitchen draws from the gardens, the reef and the local market: fresh tuna, sambals pounded that morning, fruit from the trees out front when it's in season. Breakfast, lunch and a candle-lit dinner each night, open to outside guests as well.
